i'm over weight by atleast 45 lbs. I weigh 162 and my goal is to get down to a toned 115. I'm 5'2" With a really big butt :) and big thighs and arms :( my stomach is not that bad but it's not like I want it. I want to get nice and fit by the summer. I'm gonna try the FT program. Is this gonna work for me? I'm currently walking 30 mins. a day will this be helpful with my diet?

Set a goal to improve by summer. You want to make a lifestyle change not just lose weight and risk gaining it back later!!!! Memorial Week-end is only 12 weeks away. It is reasonable to lose 2 pounds a week. So that about 24 pounds. Go by how you look in the mirror and not by a scale weight goal as muscle weighs more than fat. Your scale will not gauge body composition. Most people guess my weight 5-10 pds less than I am. So plan on continuing your diet and training program through the summer its a great time to be active.

You have good goals, but you should increase your walk to about 45 minutes a day and maybe do some different types of cardio so your body doesn't get used to it. If you have access to a bike or stationary bike, you may try that a couple days a week. Also if you stick to the program, you will see results. I love the results I have gotten. Good luck and welcome to FT.

I would recommend the ft program to anyone who has the desire to improve themself. I agree with the above words of making a lifestyle change and not quitting once you meet your first goal. One thing that will help, it helped me, is to gradually increase the intensity of your walking until you no can reach your target heart rate. Then start jogging and go on from there. When I first started on my weight loss quest I weighed 300 pounds and could barely walk 100 yards without keeling over. I now run 10K races regularly. Good luck on reaching your goals, you can draw much motivation and encouragement from the ft site.
