Hi I need someone who is in great shape to help me with my routine. I have been battling for a while on trying to find routine that will be sufficient enough to reach goals. I am in good shape I have been doing this for a little while. I was thinking about doing Back, L.back arms and abs on Mondays. Then on Tuesdays I would do legsand abs with a 20-45 minute cardio routine. On Wednesday day off. Then Thursday do chest, shoulders arms and abs and 20-45 minutes of cardio. And on Friday finish with legs and abs. Then of course maybe take most of the weekend off except for some fun sports! Plese advice is this enough?

Jeremy, have you already signed up for an ft program? If not, you should...and let ft custom-tailor a routine for you based on your goal! It also seems you do ab work everyday, except for your days off. What time of day do you do them? In other words, do you work on abs during weight training?

I do my abs before I lift weights. I go to the gym in the mornings between 9 and 11. I tried one of the programs but some of the routines they do I don't care for or they haven't had an effect on me. I don't know my body responds to certain things a bit better! And I like to be inventive and create my own workouts so I don't get bored. I am pretty far along in my life with working out. My lean ratio is like 5:1 and I only have about 10% body fat. But I am constantly getting bored with the routine and trying to find something that will effect me physically and not so much on the downsloap mentally!

Then, it sounds like you don't have a problem with the training split...but rather the exercises. The split you mentioned earlier looks alright, except you have chest, shoulders and arms on the same day. You may want to work on these muscle groups on different days as you could be overtraining your arms. Try the following split:
Mon - Back & chest Tues - Legs Wed - Rest Thur - Arms & shoulders Fri - Legs & calves
If you have some free time on the weekends, you could move arms or shoulders to Sat. or Sun.
Hope this helps...

Okay I will give it a shot. But I thought since arms were such a small muscle group that they could be trained more than once a week? And I do have weekends available! Well thanks so much!
