hi i've just finished the 12 week mass program today. i am just wondering how important this two week rest period is? i have been lifting heavy for a good 8 months with no real rest period (the most maybe 2 or 3 days). is it possible i am burnt out? do i realy need this rest? will i come back stronger? (i am afraid that i will lose muscle in these two weeks!) and am i supposed to do absolutely nothing (as far as weight training) during this rest period? any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Good question!! I've been lifting for two 8 week splits and would also like to know if I am supposed to rest.

Kibbz, resting for a week or two is great it allows your body to fully recup and yes you will go back stronger then ever. As for losing any of your gains I highly doubt that will happen -- the losing proccess takes many, many months.

billk has it right on..

the rest is put into proper place in the 12 week mass.. there is no need to fear of losing your gains. You will see that it will be 100% in your mind.. you might feel smaller but no need to worry. The return workout is truly amazing..

Get at it!
