Hey guys--

I workout after i get home from work, usually between 6:30 and 7:30. now, i know after a workout i'm supposed to take in a good amount of protein and carbs, but i've also been told it isn't good to eat too many carbs in the evening. so my question is whether the carb/evening rule still applies following a workout? since i finish my workout around 7:30 and eat around 8, is it ok to load up on carbs at that point or should i keep my consumption low? i'm fairly new to all this nutrition biz, so any help is appreciated. thanks!

I would suggest monitoring my carb intake during the day to make room for the bigger meal in the evening. You body is really in motion during and after a workout for several hours. I'm not suggesting you have 200g of carbs, but a moderate amount would not hurt. Really, concentrate on the protein intake. My post-workout protein intake is slightly greater than my other meals. Experiment with your body type and see what works best for you.
