I Just thought it would be cool if we could all share some workout annoyances with each other.

My Annoyance is:
Having to change weights between reps, I loose 20 minutes or so every workout just changing weights. That SUCKS!

my biggest annoyance is:

this idiot in my gym who uses an entire bench to place his water bottle on it along with his gloves. Nothing else! Some people are soo arrogant!

One of my annoyances is when someone starts talking to me or making me laugh when I'm trying to really concentrate on pushing that last rep out.

For me it is just someone walking near me if I just started a rep.

Call me picky...sometimes seeing someone doing an exercise or stretch routine all wrong distracts me to no end...but the worse is that we have a sound system and a TV. General rule of thumb is that any music can be played as long as everyone is okay (usually undre 10 people in gym at any time)...but there is one guy who loves classical music. Try to do some heavy lifting with some string quartet playing airy fairy music in the background or sorry you young'uns Techno dance music(some is actually excellent for lifting)but some have silly lyrics and it makes rap sound good!

their's a couple of guys in my gym who go 4 5 even 6 sets for each exercise...they usualy use low weight..the problem is that they go 4 one set after the other and won't get of the machine until their done...the way I deal with these guys depends on my mood #1 and then how busy I am.

my most annoyance is when I go from one exercise to another in a superset and and I find the first machine taken by someone else.. and when I ask to share it with him/her he/she says,"ok, can you just wait for only ten min, i have 3 more sets and i'll leave the machine to you, so why don't you keep yourself busy in anything else until then?" that really ticks me off.

So much for sharing. I don't mind getting up and switch a machine so someone else can use it, so why can't they... To absorbed in their on little "I'm Buff" fantasies!!!

I dispise people who "take up space" you know what I'm talking about. The way I deal with that is I dont say anything and as soon as there done foolin around I put my weight on and grunt loud at them, they get the indirect point.

There is a guy who works out at my gym and also works in my office. Whenever he sees me at the gym he comes over and complains about work. I loose my focus and can't get back into my workout.
When I am at the gym I do not bring my job with me. I usually just nod and try to get back to what I am there for but it rarely works. I try to avoid him at the gym but that is hard to do also.

alright all..what about this...about 3 years ago when I used to work out in TN.. I remember finishing off my workout and hidding to the rest room to wash up...this big biker dude came out lookin' pretty dumm and sweaty...I'm lookin' at the floor just across the toilet and it was soaked with water (atleast that's what I thought it was) I was already half way in and figured the best way to get out nice and easy was to jump out. This turned out to be a big mistake, as with that huge leap I slipped and fell right on the wet &^(&# floor and was soaked completely with it. I got up pretty frustrated and angry and before you know it I slip and fall back down agan...eventually the third time was alright....I spent like 2 hours washing up and cursing the day I decided to give that gym a try.

Good subject billk. Could go on all day. Right now what's getting me where I train is these guys (there are about six of them)Who come in and grab 5 or 6 sets of different weight dumbells, throw 'em on the floor around an incline bench and start doing drop sets on curls. Thats about all I ever see them do. Can't get dumbells un less I just walk over and take 'em from them(which I've done)They don't want to share cause I guess they're trying to build the arms from hell or something. But they're all stick men!

Oh yeah! and to piss me off a little more when they leave they just leave their weight scattered all over the floor for folks to trip on. Also any thing that distracts me from my next or current task is a real bummer! S who is gonna list all these complaints in order from most annoying to least so's we can present a copy to the worst offenders in our respective gyms? :)

May be you guys shouldn't post topics like this in the future. I see where this is gonna lead me. I'm gonna start to think about it to much and post a reply that is nothing but pure obsenities and FT is gonna boot me off the board. I used to train in one of those country club wannabe fitness joints in the 80s. There was always some spandex clad pretty boy just takin' up space on a vital piece of equipment. They never seemed to sweat! I guess the spandex just soaked it all up right away. Made me wanna slap 'em. Just in the way for no reason! I'm not the most friendly person when I've spent all mornning screwing my mind up for a blast session and then I go to the gym and hafta look at something like that.

Yes that is a definite annoyance. I'd have to say that is my biggest pain... Especially when you do a good wor out and are a little tired after and then you do the weight removal training!!!
