I'm still unclear about how many grams of protein I should take. 1 to 1.5 grams per pound of body weight...OK. But My new 94 gram bottle of GNC 100% whey protein says 29 grams per serving. I weight 200 lbs, so I should drink at least 7 glasses (servings) everyday?!?!?!?! I know I should get some of this protein in the food I eat, but how much chicken would I have to eat daily to reach 200 grams of protein if I only drank the one 29 gram shake?

Well, there's more to eat than chicken and protein shakes. If I were you, I would just start out by writing down everything I eat for a week or two, it'll give you an idea of the amount of protein in the various foods you eat and then you'll be able to see how hard/easy it would be to reach your goal.

I look to milk as an easy way to get some protein instead of depending just on the shakes.

Don't forget: you can input all of the foods you eat in your "Nutritional Program" here on Freetrainers. All the hard work of counting each gram of protein will already be done for you.

Most of your protein should come from real food. You shouldn't need to take 7 servings of protein a day. I take anywhere from 2-3 depending on my protein intake for that day by real foods. Fish, chicken, turkey and eggs are great protein resources without a lot of fat and carbs.
