anyone ever get one i saw pictures of bodybuilders that got them before and it looked nasty they were all purple and red in that area they also said they were out alot of months i forgot how many i hope i never get one of those in my life

I've heard anywear from 6 months to a year depending upon the severity. Especially those requiring surgery.

I had freind get one and he was out for about six months. Instead of useing slow controled movements, he tried to jerk and bounce 315 and it blew out on him. If you keep the weight under control it should never happen.

ya...I know this big guy who felt something pop in his rib cage once 2...that must have hirt bad but his back...

Well a pec tear is not a good thing! haha.. when you actually tear the muscle.. the sound sounds like a stack of papers being torn in half! OUCH! There will ofcourse be a period of time for recovery of anywhere from 2-12 months! But hey, look at IFBB Pro Kevin Levrone, he tore his pec in the early 90s and last year he placed 2nd in the Mr. Olympia contest so it doesn't end your training.
