Newbie onboard: Weight Loss question

Hello,

I am new to the site and I am so glad to find it. I have been struggling with my weight all my life. I am 31 years old. I am ready to exercise, but I am very inflexible. How can I strengthen my core muscles and increase my flexibility? My muscles are very tight and my hips are not flexible as they should be. Will I ever increase my flexibilty to have a better workout? Please advise.
