Ok, probably a repeat question. I am 24, and not really overweight by any means, but I did hit that period where most people "fill out". My plan is to get back to the gym after some time off. My question is this, I feel like I want to lose weight around my stomache and oblique area, but I want to get a little muscle everywhere else. Should I try to lose the said weight, or will that just sort of come off naturally throughout strength training

Strength training will definately give you a toned look everywhere and help with reducing fat. For th most part your diet will play a big role in losing the fat.
