hey all I am in the army and have been for about 8 years. I do pretty good on my PT test putting up a 275 or higher on almost all of my tests but cant reach the elusive 300 club. I have no problem with my run its my push ups and sit ups. I train and train some more but still cant do enough to max them out. Any weight programs I can use or other exercises to help me hit my mark. the closest ive come was 2 years ago when i was 10 push ups short of a perfect score.

To do pushups, you need stronger forearms, chest, triceps and shoulders. You'll need to strengthen these bodyparts.

As far as situps, try doing them with weights as well as strengthen your thighs (since most of the work is done by your hip flexors).

Good luck!

I am in the Marine Corps and I have never really had a problem with situps, but if you do leg lifts they will help and Robert is right about the thighs since that is where you tend to feel it the most. As far as push-ups, you need to work you upper body and don't forget the lower back. Good luck.
