MY first monday today! After smoking for 25 years I never realized how out of shape I was until I stepped on to the treadmill. I am 6ft 7 @220lbs so weight has never been an issue.
Started off at 2%incline at 4.4 MPH. By the first .25 mile I could feel the burn. I pushed myself to a mile. Ran and played some basketball. Went back on the treadmill walked 2 miles and jogged at 7mph for one mile.

There are NO stupid questions. Start off with a weight that you can lift comforably with a little bit of resistance, allowing good form and complete range of motion. Don't be embarrassed if you feel the weight is not heavy enough. Good luck and welcome to freetrainers.
