Hello I have a question for everyone the exercise program that is givin to me involves abs. But I have little bit of fat there. My question is this, several people told me not to worry about abs until you lose weight in your stomach area because if you dont it builds muscle under the fat and makes you look fatter is this true? And should I still do the ab work out or wait until I lose alittle weight? thank ya

As long as you are not using resistance when doing the ab exercises you shouldn't gain any size only tone the muscles. I think it is important to work the abs because they are one of the important stabilizer muscles that are utilized in other exercises. Hope this helps. Good luck!

I agree, resistance will give you bigger abs. If just doing crunches, you will tone whatever muscle is there already. Abs is the center of the body and I highly recommend working abs into every routine.
