I seem to have problems with bone spurs in my shoulders. I have already had one surgery and probably looking in the near future for surgery on the other. My question is, what is the best type of routine to prevent bone spur developement. A little history. I am 37 yrs. 6'0" 210lbs. I usually try to do sets of 8-10 reps for 3 sets. My bench, which seems to bother my shoulders a lot is 275 lbs. on my last set for 8-10 reps. I do a couple of lighter sets to warm up before moving up. What would be better. More weight for less reps like maybe 3-5 reps, or move up to sets of 15. I was told that putting too much strain on the joint is what causes the spurs, but I have been doing at least sets of 8 for some time figuring that if I can do the weight that many times, it can't be putting that much strain on the joint. Yet, I seem to keep having problems. Looking for some guidance.
