Pushups and crunches

I have been trying to do pushups nearly every day, except for any day which touches my Chest and Tricep Workout.

Would you consider this doing Pushups on a Recovery Day?

Do not train on a recovery day, these are to rest your muscles.

I like to train for a higher pushup count, and I like to do crunches too. Is it inefficient to train for pushups and such on recovery days?
