so, I am fairly new to this website and working out and all that. well, I have been hitting the gym pretty faithfully this last week after working my graveyards, well, yesterday I took a day off (I was suppostu go fishing with a friend instead) and when i woke up to go fishing my legs and arms were so stiff and sore that I could barely move. my arms have gotten a bit better, but my legs now are so bad that I my right calf tightens up and I cant walk right. so, basically what I'm asking is, do I need to tone it down at the gym, or do I need to seperate my workout days and not go so often? maybe do a day on and a day off?? anywho. I also have big bruises on my shoulder blades, I'm guessing from a bench I was working out on, or pulling those muscles while working out. any suggestions on how I can work out and not get so beatup? thanks

Hi' The key to working out is resting muscles completly between workout. The muscles have to heel completly in order to recover. You wouldn't want to get injured because you did not give yourself enough recovery time. You should not workout at all until the pain is gone.

Can we see an example of what you do each week? Are you following one that the site gives you?

I'm not following a workout guide from anywhere. I usaully just work out when I feel good enough after I get off work, which is usaully 2-3 times a week. I start off with 20 minutes on the stationary bike, then I switch it up depending on what area I feel like working out. the first time I worked out I lifted pretty heavy. probably heavier than I should have. and I was down for a couple days becuase I couldnt move. lol. so lately I have been lifting only 60-70% of my max but getting more reps and sets in. I usaully lift for another 45-50 minutes and thats pretty much a day at the gym. I appreciate you guys taking a few minutes to help me out with this.. any advice / suggestions would be helpful. thank you
