Hey I have a question on my exercise program. On the sets, do I do all of one exercise at a time, or do I do set one of each exercise, and then go back and do set 2 of each exercise?

What you are describing is from of supersetting and it is valid method of training, but the programs on this site are designed such that you do one movement at a time.

Ok, I'm not exactly sure what you mean. What I am wondering about the exercises that I was assigned. There are all different exercises I am suppose to do. And under each one, there are four sets. For example, under push-ups, I am to do 15 in set one, 15 in set two, 12 in set three, and 10 in set four. Same in Side laterals, and so on. I am suppose to do ALL the push-ups and them move onto the Side laterals and do all of them? Or do I do 15 push-ups, 15 Side laterals and down the line until I have done all of set one, and then come back and do set two of all the exercises? Does that make more sense? Sorry to be rambling on and on! :) Thanks for your help1

Do all the sets for one exercise before moving to the next.

Okay. What is the benefit to doing a superset? Or is it more beneficial to do regular sets? I am not sure what the differences are.

A superset consist of two or more different movements.
For example this would be a superset
Bench Press 8 Reps
Immediately after with no rest
Rows 8 reps
So the set was really 16 reps, but it was split across two movements.
Why do a superset? Here are some ideas.
1) Saves time.
2) Increases endurance.
3) More time under tension, which might equate to more muscle growth.
4) It has a metabolic effect i.e can stimulate fat loss.

I have always done supersets (not realizing this of course....lol) I think I will stick with them - they do save time and keep my workouts from getting boring (and if they're boring, I'll most likely quit) thanks for the info.
