Derek Poundstone just took second at the arnold classic strongman competition behind 6 time winner Zydrunas Savickas. Derek was competing with a pec tear and was not expected to compete. Most impressive is that he set a world record on the circus dumbbell using only his left arm (as opposed to alternating like other competitors) since his pec was giving him pain.

Other results...
1. Zydrunas Savickas (his 6th win by the way)
2. Derek Poundstone
3. Mikhail Koklyaev
4. Andrus Murumets
5. Benedikt Magnusson, Brian Siders (USA) (tie)
7. Phil Pfister (USA)
8. Oleksandr Pekanov
9. Van Hatfield
10. Vasyl Virastyuk

2006 WSM Winner Phil Pfister took 7th.

I think most impressive, is Brian Siders took 5th after passing an IPF drug test. Immediately after the arnold classic strongman competition, Siders placed second in the Bench Bash with a 771 (only 8lbs under his previous world record) for the second highest bench and second highest wilks. This was a USAPL meet with IPF judging.

Siders is a BEAST and lbstone is the new face of strongman, mark my words.

In addition, Wade Hooper took the USAPL record squat of 777 as a 165lber. Priscilla Ribic pulled 523 as a 165lber.

Seems like he just decided to take a weight he could do speed work with...

You can find other videos by searching for the event names with "arnold classic" as one of the search criteria... Whole bunch of video's on youtube...
