Twenty years ago I broke my kneecap and had part of it removed. When I started going to the gym about a year ago the personal trainer pointed out that my injured leg was stronger than my uninjured. I was surprised because I had anticipated the opposite. I've been doing hack squats and leg curls pretty regularly and have recently noticed that my uninjured leg has gained strength surpassing my injured leg. What should I do to even out this development?

Unilateral movements like Bulgarian Split Squats, step-ups, and lunge variations are an option. Start the exercises with the weaker leg first.

I have a similar case, I had a car accident about 10 years ago, now my injured leg, has more muscle mass. It looks kind of funny because one calf is larger then the other. I try working out the injured leg first then the other leg. I cant really determine which leg is stronger tho.
