Been using the Nutrition Tracker and have noticed today that my intake of Vitamin A was 5 times the recommended target and Vitamin E was 50 times!! I'm no-where near my calorie target/carb/protein etc either. All my other vitamins are on target except iron and zinc (a little on the low side)

Are these dangerous levels or are Vitamin A and E relatively safe (i looked at the toxicity of vitamin A and was a little worried)

Matt, I just tried to find information about this for you and found many contradictory reports about Vitamin E. After realizing that my Vit E intake was low, my pharmacist strongly recommended that I not take a supplement to offset and listed off a lot of reasons why which I can not remember now. Crud.
Studies that I found on the internet did not say good things about consuming too much Vitamin A.
If you are taking supplements that send you over the recommended target, I would recommend that you stop. If you do not take supplements, I'd be curious to know what your diet consists of to get you up to such elevated levels.
For further information a quick phone call to your doctor or pharmacist may be good as well to determine.

Well known fact that too much Vit. A can be toxic. This is why it is a good idea to get your vit.A from beta carotene for instance. It is converted by the body as needed for Vit. A.

Most Beta Carotenes are synthetic. Natural beta-carotene from food, is best, as it is made of two molecules?all trans beta-carotene and 9-cis beta-carotene.
