Hi ALL
I have a real problem in gaining and keeping flexible. When ever I workout with weights I seem to lose my range of movement.
My stretching routine looks like this, I first warmup with medium intensity cardio for ten minutes, then for each bodypart I hold the stretch for 1 minute, 2 minutes rest and then repeat this five times. The next day my muscles are just are sore and tight. Am I doing something wrong, would anyone know how to fix this?
Your over stretching I believe, go for 30 seconds to 1 minutes 1 or 2 times each stretch.
Say your doing calf stretches, do 1 leg hold for 30 seconds to 1 minute and then go to the other leg and after that back to the other leg and repeat.
You will always lose flexibility after lifting, I'm my loosest the day before I do legs as the day after I'm tighter and this is why I find it best to stretch after my workout and for the next couple days or even every day.
Your not going to be limber like a dancer and lift weights but you don't have to be stuck all stiff either.
Gaining your flexibility back is apart of the recovery process!
