My situation:
I want to lose fat as fast as possible, but healthy. I know it's best done slowly, but I just want to know which of these following scenarios would be FASTER for fat loss.

scenario 1: lower calories with .8-9 grams of protein per pound (what I've been doing, and still maintaining muscle)

scenario 2: higher calories with 1.25 grams of protein per pound (attempting to gain muscle and lose fat)

I want to know which would be faster for fat loss as both are safe for me.

Or would they be the same in speed as far as fat loss goes?

here is what i know which is minor but upon all my researching for the very same answer i have found lower your cal dont worry about protien, one step at a time...If you are big like myself lower the cal intake vs cal usage and you will lose weight, whether or not you build muscle is up to your workout, but as I was advised and I have stuck with it and it is working, focus on one or the other....since from what i read between the lines is the fat loss is more important...focus on that dont worry about protien

Well you need to understand your not going to add a ton of muscle and lose weight at the same time but if you just starting out you will add some BUT depending on the amount of fat loss you need will determine how much muscle you gain will happen.

If you want fast but safe you need to be willing to lose 1 to 2 pounds per week and hit plateau's at times.

Resistance Training, Cardio and DIET is your keys.

Higher Protein is GREAT for fat lose and muscle gain but in a fat lose program you'll have to cycle carbs and fats while maintaining High Proteins.

With that said you should read BB1's thread on Diet Made Simple and here it is http://www.freetrainers.com/FT/jsp/Message.jsp?f_ix=3&t_ix=3472

Now if your serious enough about it and show this in posts that your using his diet he will surely love to hear your progresses and even answer your questions but you should show a journal on this forum of a your progresses and keep updates going so you can get proper help. I would just start a new thread naming it asylumdsan diet made simple journal.

But then again when people ask for fast and simple really means I'm not willing to do much effort and want magic to happen!
