I've been drinking a Cranberry-Grape juice for a while now. The nutrition label says it has 160 calories per 8 ounces (which is alot for 8 oz I think, which is good for me, I need cals. :-) but it also says its only 25% real fruit juice and it has 40g carbs (it also says 40g sugar - I assume all the carbs are in the form of sugar???)

My wife told me "those are just empty calories"... I started thinking .... hmmm.. is this good? 160 calories, but it looks like its just loaded with sugar.

What do you guys think? Is this just as bad as drinking a soda?

That's a lot of sugar! You may want to look into juices that have a lower amount of sugar.

Also, since it only has 25% real fruit juice, the other 75% is probably made up of preservatives and fillers.

Good luck!

And what's wrong with real fresh cranberries or grapes?

Ten times better for you. Less sugar but a lot more vitamines and fibres.

Okey if you don't need to loose weight, don't worry about the calories but listen to your clever wife 'cause she's right there. Real fruits are better.
