Hey, i was recently asked by a friend "whats your secret to getting so ripped?" - I told him a number of secrets i have learned on this site. Heres my list - please feel free to add on folks! id love to try and add them to my diet/workout regime.In no particular order
1) Eat healthy - high protein, complex carbs, healthy fats reduce junk food. Also try and take in a lot of fruits and vegetables.
2)No carbs 2 hours before bedtime
3)Lift big.
4)drink lots of water - stay hydrated throughout the day. I bring a drink container and have it on me at all times while im at work.
5)Take a protein drink immediately after a workout (with water). Also take one before bed (with milk) slows digestion throughout the night.
6) Eat a big breakfast. - Oatmeal with a bit of protein powder sprinkled on mmmmm.
7)Make sure to concentrate hard and heavy on the big compound exercises. Deadlifts, bent over rows, squats, bench, shoulder press.
8)Do not overtrain - I do only one muscle group a day 5 days a week - seems to work for me.
9)Try and completely cut alcohol out of the diet - Tough one for me being a young buck but i find that a nights binge can really set your weeks progressions back.
10)Last but hopefully not least - Please others reply with your secrets i know i have not covered them all but hopefully most - SLEEEEEEEEP! this is when our body recovers. I try and get in 8-9 hours at least.
