i would really like to follow a book workout and go with it any suggestions on the best 1?

just take a basic workout with compound exercises and do it...consistantly....you're overthinking this....most of the books are crap...there's no secret...u do big exercises...figure out things that work for u....and continue to do them ....

I agree with menace - although I've only read a few they tend to pigeonhole you into a group and assume you will move through the 'fitness levels' as quickly as it states in the book. This is of course b.s. If you want a handy book try Frederuc Delavier's Strength Training Anatomy.
