I hear alot of people who have succeeded in weight loss explain replacing junkfood with healthy alternatives. I have tried many thing and enjoy fruits such as apples and vegetables such as peas, but i would like to expand my healthy food list. Does anybody have recommandations for healthy foods?

This may not be an alternative for you but I even drop all fruits except berries when I'm trying to cut fat. I have 50 blueberry bushes so that's obviously my favorite and strawberries are starting to put on now. :) I also have a big garden so I always have some fresh veggies to take to work.

why drop all fruits??
Having a peach or banana would be way better than sitting down to a chocolate bar?? A lil confused :surprised:

My treat at night is a cup of fat free cottage cheese with an envelope of chocolate Alba - maybe a spoon of peanut butter if I did extra good that day. Blend and slightly freeze - AWESOME!

A lot of fruits have a high nutural sugar content. Berries are typically the lowest.

I've noticed lately that the are starting to package junk food in controlled calorie package sizes. Although i wouldn't recommend eating these on a regular basis, they may help with the occatioanl snack attack. However, from personal experience, I've found I just have to avoid chips, crackers, pop, and other sweets 95% of the time (even if they say no fat or no sugar) foods, because they just tend to be additional calories to my normal daily intake-and once I get started, I just crave mor:surprised: For in-between meals I'm eating a packet of regular oatmeal(sometimes with added protien powder)--not terribly yummy, but it fills me up and is healthy. Sometimes I add some maple flavoring to it. Fruit and veggies are my staple munchie foods and I too limit my fruit intake-except berries as mike says. Oh ya, peanut butter on a small whole wheat tortilla with some cut up apple is pretty good too....
-------------- Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.

Well even though other fruits that arent berries are high in sugar, they are always the better choice over a chocolate bar!
