Hello, I am a 17 year old male, I weigh 177 pounds and have been attending the gym daily for the past month now.

My routine is 50 minutes of cardio, followed by weight lifting. I have just recently purchased whey protein which I drink after every workout, and L-Glutamine along with Creatine Monohydrate.. I hear mixed reviews when it comes to creatine and would like to know the details of weight gain associated with it, I am already a bit chubby and wish to not lose weight and be a twig, but gain muscle mass and tone myself.

I am currently doing the loading phase for creatine, 1 heaping teaspoon 4 times daily for 5 days (I think I will cut it down to 5 days though as I am only 17 and still, fairly small..)

Could a veteran please help me out with this? I don't want to just get fatter obviously, that would ruin the reason why I got a gym membership.

Also, how much water should one drink on creatine?

Sorry, can't seem to edit my post but I meant I will probably cut the creatine loading phase down to 3 days.

Creatine will only aid you in the addition of an added burst. It is produced in your body already, all your doing by loading and maintaining it is topping off your natural supply and keeping it there. It's really best used when you reach a point in your workout where your at a plateau, and need a little boost to get you past it. That's when you notice the benefit of taking it, taking it before then and you never really realize this benefit. As far as weight gain goes, an average of 6-8 pounds of water weight is typical. When you stop taking it, you will lose this. If I were you I would hold off on the creatine, keep taking the whey and L-glutamine if you like post workout with some simple sugars. Drink 1/2 right away, then sip the other 1/2 over about 30 minutes. I would also suggest doing your cardio on your off days, leaving at least one full day of reast each week.
