I want to start hiit slowly...last week I tried it and did 3 mins regular(on elliptical) and then 1 min intense..Is this too much to begin with? I couldnt finish the last min in the workout(20 mins total)
I dont want to push it,rather go into it gradually

bb1fit had a good article awhile back and I got it on a search and put the link below. It's like anything else, get into at a speed that will let you stick with it.
