Sorry, but I'm new here. I started working out approx 12 months ago. I started with a body weight of 308 lbs, and a mass of 53% fat. I lost due to diet and exercise 40 lbs, and 14% body fat. Unfortunately, I have now started to gain it back. I still consume less than 2000 cal per day and exercise with weight and cardio 6 days a week. What am I doing wrong?

Hey Jeff - this seems to be the answer of the week. You can drop a lot of weight and body fat over a relatively short period of time with a restrictive diet but then your metabolism comes to a screaming halt and the weight quits dropping as you're finding out. You out weigh me by almost 100 lbs but eat almost half as much and I'm on a maintenance diet. You need to recompute your caloric intake and then substract from that a few hundred at a time till you get a good weight loss going again (but not too much). The weight will come off slowly but it will come off which is what you want. And believe it or not, you might want to drop your cardio down to 3 or 4 times a week and see what that does for you. If you browse the thumb tack posts in these forums, you'll see in detail where you're going wrong.

Thank you for your advice. Just about everything I have seen tonight has told me exactly that. I think I have a new routine worked out through this site. Now, as you say, getting on top of the eating is the next biggest step. Any advice you have is greatly appreciated. Frustration has started to seep in.

Just keep educating yourself. There's a ton of info on this site and a load of people willing to help. As you've probably already read, get into the habit of multiple small meals. It doesn't take long but you'll find yourself wanting (and needing) to eat every 3 hours or so. The biggest thing is check your diet and make sure you're getting enough protein and an even spread of every thing else.
