I just signed up, and will be starting a free weight + 12 week abs program starting next monday.
Now, I'm pretty busy, so I've had to think about when I am going to do this, and the only logical thing I can think of would be early in the morning, before I head off to school.
I've asked someone about this, and they said it was a good idea, because by the time noon comes around, I should be fully energetic because my metabolism is at a high. I was just curious if this is true, and if doing this in the morning would be a good idea?
If it is a good idea to do this in the morning, how much sleep should I get ahead of time, should I eat breakfast and wait half an hour before working out, or should I eat after I am done working out? (Wouldn't make much sense to me considering there wouldn't be much to get energy from).
Thanks.

i'm not to sure about the advantages of working out in the morning, but for the sleep you would want to get a min of 8 hours. As for the breakfast i usally eat some oats and a protien shake 30-60 min before i workout and that gives me time to wake up so when i get to the gym im not hungry and my body is ready for the workout.

Oh then i drink half of my post workout shake right away then sip the rest over about the next 30-45min or so, about hour after that i eat a balanced meal.

Well, my lifestyle unfortunately doesn't give me the ability to purchase all these expensive shakes and whatnot, so I'm going to have to stick with the healthiest things I have here at home.
I guess it's penut butter and eggs for me, I just have to figure out when to eat, because Ive heard points from both sides of eating before workout, after, and both. I have to be out of my house by 730am, so I only have so much time, and since Im already going to be waking up at about 530, I have to be able to get everything done realistically.

you can get 10Lb of Optimum nutrition for about $60.00 online and it has about 155 servings in it each serving has like 24g of protein.

Well that sounds not too bad considering my nutrition plan says I should get approx. 36g of protein. I may look into it in the near future, but for now, I could just scramble up 4 eggs or something to compensate.

Actually looking at it, I apparently need 147g of protein in a day, which to me almost looks impossible right now.....

Here's my first post - I am in the same boat - I do all of my exercise in the living floor - mostly Pilates and 15lb weights. I started December of 2004 and have lost 50 lbs and now my concentration is on core building. I do lots of bicycles (crunches), leg lifts, squats, bridges etc.
It can be done!
The secret is this: Increase your output/decrease your intake. The rest of the members of this forum may flame me BUT, I have been successful without all of the GNC mixes - not sure most of that stuff isn't washed away in your urine BEFORE your body has a chance to really do anything with it.
Sorry if that offends anyone - but, hard work and a balanced diet (smaller portions) have worked for me.
