Doing bodyweight squats on a circuit training routine we were told to perform it with the toes pointing at a 45 degree angle, As I'm used to squatting with a very small angle it seemed starnge and asked why, he then said something about working a muscle and then pointed to his inner thigh which I would say is the hip adductor / gracilis? Surely the entire purpose of the squat is to work the quadraceps. So what mechanical difference is ther between a toes pointed out squat and one where the toes are almost forward? To me his arguament sounds like complete bs, but I have little knowledge on the matter.
