I haven't weight trained in about 6 years. How do I know how much weight to start using? I am fairly active, just would like to get stronger and loose some pounds:big_smile:

do 5-10 min of light cardio....to break a sweat...
start light....it may mean doing bodyweight for the exercises or an empty bar.....have a spotter just in case....it may look goofy but it will prevent possible goofy injuries that arise...weight is weight.....

exactly... it will take a few lift sessions before you get to the weight that you should be at... start low and then increased to the desired level. There is no sense in trying to do to much and hurting yourself.

Oh yeah, I see some soreness in my crystal ball. As they have said be very careful. Don't let the ego get you. The soreness is awesome. I wish I could get that sore from a regular workout now. It makes it clear that you're getting the job done.

Good luck!

Thanks guys. i wasn't sure, but now it sounds like lighter is better. it also sounds like getting the reps in is more important than the heavy lifting! at least right now!
