Hi everyone. I'm fairly new here, and am so happy to have found this site!

I am 28 yrs old, 5'5" and 158lbs. Over the past couple of weeks I've been trying to come up with a fitness/diet plan that will help me lose 23 lbs by May 23rd. I'd like to share what I am doing and see what you fitness-saavy people think about it. Will I reach my goal with this plan? If not, what can I do to improve it? Here's my plan:

Sunday - Rest
Monday - 25 min HIIT of walk/jog intervals on a treadmill, then a weight lifting session (chest, legs, back, abs) with two 5 minute bursts of HIIT on the treadmill in between exercises. (I think that's called circuit training?) Sometimes (if I have the energy) I will do some more intervals on the elliptical. I have a Polar Heart rate monitor and try to stay in my "zone" when doing weights & cardio, but it sometimes goes over during the high peaks of the intervals on the treadmill.
Tuesday - Same thing, but different muscle groups - shoulders, biceps, triceps, abs.
Wednesday - Rest
Thursday - Same as Monday
Friday - Same as Tuesday
Saturday - Rest

Along with this routine, I am intaking approx 1500 calories per day (give or take). I'm still working on improving WHAT I am eating as this is all new to me.

Any advice will be great appreciated!

Read your profile and congratulations on losing your weight:) I noticed that you were doing the elliptical(i think thats what you said) 3 days a week. your weight probably plateued because your body got use to your routine. Its recomended that you switch up your routine to keep your body guessing.
Now i have a question for you. On the days that you are working out, are you doing the hiit and going straight over to the weights or are you giving your body time to refuel itself?

Chellie,
Thanks for the congrats! I do take a water break after the 25 min HIIT before going to the weights. This routine is actually the one I'm doing now, not the other. That's why I'm posting because I'm always second guessing myself and don't know which way I should do it! I'm hoping someone here can tell me if I'm on the right track. Otherwise, I guess I'll stick this routine and time will tell if it's working or not! Thanks for your reply. :)
