Hi,

Im looking to try and loose body fat, and have figured out from reading various posts here that best way is via cardio HIIT using stuff such as an elliptical machine or a rowing machine of some sort - followed by protein intake afterwards, and doing it in the AM.

i have the majority of my weight around my stomach area and i wanna just get rid of it.

does anyone have a recommended piece of equipment, either an elliptical or rowing machine that i can try to get hold of, im looking to buy one. I also do free weights but not many.

another thing im confused about is do i eat other stuff with the protein after the cardio? my routine at the moment is as follows - wake up - skipp breakfast, cycle for 15 mins to work at a fast pace, usually skip lunch or get some snacks from vending machine (not healthy i know) such as packet of crisps or a choc bar, then i have a meal on the night which.. could do to be healthier.. from what ive read i think i dont eat enough, or im not eating properly. got myself a list of recommended foods from here..

any tips or pointers greatly appreciated.. thanks. :)

You pretty much covered everything in your post that I would say. You know what to do so it's just a matter of doing it. :)

eep after reading more im now worried bout loosing muscle / lean mass.. i do free weights on arms and some situps a few times a week - but as i understand it :

if im doing cardio in morning on an empty stomach, ill be risking using up muscle / lean mass - so whats advised suppliment to stop that happening - i understand that i give my body the stuff thats in my muscles to use via suppliments, that was it uses that, and the fat, instead of muscle and fat?

and when would i take it? i figure ill do 30 min rowing machine, break for 15 whilst im getting ready for work then got a 15 min cycling.

sorry for all questions but im pretty clueless at this.. so need advice and right now knowing what to do is actually the bottleneck :(

mucho thanks

I do many searches on this website. everything you have asked about is in here. I really like bb1fit and assimer have to say. Take full advantage of using the search tool.

My two cents about the elliptical. I prefer it over the rowing machines. If you have bad knees its the machine for you. Also I find it more exciting to use versus any other piece of cardio equipment.

If you're doing cardio in the morning on an empty stomach, make sure you get some sort of breakfast afterwards.

I'm currently maintaining my weight on 2,500 calorie intake and burning, and I always run for an hour in the morning before breakfast, before class, before I really do anything else. For one, if I don't, I don't feel hungry enough to eat breakfast (eating breakfast is important as it helps to keep your metabolism up during the day), and two, I like the boost of endorphines in the morning before having to deal with a cranky professor.

But don't skip breakfast.
