Could be some of those. Maybe just bored on your off days?

eat eat and then ? eat some more..u are fairly skinny for your height.....your body is taking off days to ...well...recover....it's refueling muscle glycogen stores, rebuilding broken muscles, and many other tasks.....you need food/energy for all those tasks...so focus on eating healthy foods and don't worry about the quantity...make sure to take a min of 1g per lb of bodyweight of protien and 2-3g of complex carbs per lb of bodyweight....

also u'll be losing muscle on ur diet...don't worry about the bf...and just focus on gaining muscle/weight....u'll see results either way

Fall Sports just ended meaning football is over and I finally have time to devote to general fitness again. However I find on the days I give myself off for rest/recovery or homework overloads/college apps my appetite is ridiculous. It's like I'm this endless pit that requires constant feeding. I took in 600 calories in one sitting thinking I'd be satisfied for a while... bam 90 minutes later I'm starving! I hold out for another half an hour and then just cave and take in like 900 calories and that holds me over, but not for long. It's ridiculous, and taxing on my weekly workout food supplies! I'd think I'd gain some fat yet I hold out at exactly 200lbs at 6'3 with very slight variation.

When I work out I'm much stricter 200 grams protein 400-450 grams carbs 50-60 grams fat with some variation of course. Usually hover in the 2800-3200 cal range. On these off days I must at least be hitting 4000. What is causing this? Is my metabolism going crazy, beginning another growth spirt, just general teenager food requirements or what?

It's driving me nuts because I want to lose 10-15lbs of fat before I add another 20lbs of muscle as it's much easier to see physical improvements with a lower BF%.

could be your meatabolism, i get these days too. could also be that your muscles are crying out for more nutrients. if you are hungry, dont neglect your body. listen to your insides, they can dictate better what you need than consuming a certain diet each day.
