Hey mates! Thanks for having me on this community! I've been browsing it for a day or so, and really like what I see. I have created my personal profile (I think I did it correctly hah =P) and have posted what I would like to achieve. I'll post it here, just incase I did it wrong.

Currently -
I am 5'6 and currently weighing about 210 pounds, give or take. I've gained a lot of fat since High School, but I am still fairly muscular, just more fatty :).

I don't have a stomach that sticks out a mile or anything, I'm actually pretty good there I think. However, I do have large love handles, something that I hate more then anything on my body.

I also have a large butt and thighs. My butt used to be a blessing to me hah, I was constantly told how nice it was by women, but now it's just out of controll. It's getting to large, and it's effecting my self-esteem. My thighs are also getting larger by the day it seems, and my pants are just starting to get to tight for my likeing!

Goals -
I plan on loseing about 50 pounds (Would love to be around 150 pounds). I don't care about getting really big muscles or anything, I just want to lose some weight and a significant amount of bodyfat percentage.

I really want to focus on my butt, thigh areas, and the love handles, which I talked about in my currently section. I'm not sure If I should be focusing more on cardio with weight training, or what. I'm also not sure about what kinda diet I should be on. Low fat, low carb, high carb, low protein, high protein? I'm rather confused about it all hah.

What I have-
I have a gym that can rival any other, and a lap pool. I enjoy the pool because I have somewhat bad knees after 2 knee surgeries. Sadly, I hear swimming doesn't really get rid of the fat, which is what I want. I can do leg workouts with my knees, Hell I can run 4 miles if I want, but I'm just a little easier on them now a days since the surguries and all. Can anyone offer me any suggestions about workouts, deits and the like?

I thank the community, and look foward to helping and being helped! Stay safe everyone.

first things first, i would suggest checking out the workout plans offered on this site. alot of people have preached success from the routines, and its a great way to get back into exercise and stay motivated to keep it up.

as for diet.. what does your current diet look like? check out the nutritional forum for some great tips.. but in a nut shell, keep your protein intake high, and keep it lean. this includes chicken, turkey, tuna, egg whites/eggs, etc. heck even lean beef. for you carbs, keep them typically complex and fiber filled, and for fats stick to monounsaturated and polyunsaturated. saturated fats are ok in a small moderation, but trans fats are a definate no. try to include a little bit of fat in each meal (ie oilve oil to cook your egg whites, salmon + br. rice + veggies, etc.) alot of people get hung up on the idea that all fats are bad, but this is not the case. they are essential to your body, they help transport nutrients, etc. but the important thing is moderation.

cardio is also a definate in your case. it will help you burn some of the extra fat on your body, and amp up your cardiorespiratory system, which will carry over to alot of other facets (ie weight training, reduce cvd disease, etc.). high intensity exercise is the most effective method to shed the pounds, getting your heart rate up and blood pumping. im not saying jump on the treadmill and put it straight at 9, work your way up. look into High Intensity Interval Training as well, or HIIT, which is a great way to maximize fat loss and minimize time.

well thats my big general speel for now.. if you have any other questions, feel free to post and one of the knowledgeable people here will be glad to help.. good luck with your goals! :)
