I’m very new to this site and just wondering about something
My biggest problem is I absolutely hate treadmills,
Elliptical trainers and bikes. However, I do know that
getting the right amt of cardio is essential to weight
loss. I also have two ruptured disks in my back so
swimming seems like the best alternative.
SO.......
Can I skip the treadmill, swim a 500 and still
get the same results I would from sitting on a bike or
walking on a treadmill? If so should i concentrate on a
certain stroke, and is a 500 enough?
Swimming seems to be a different breed of cardio. I usually just ran for my cardio workouts but I've developed some shin splints so I persued some temporary alternatives. I swam a mile the other day, it was strange, I didn't seem quite out of breath or anything but I was plenty tired.
I go insane on a treadmill as well if it's all at the same pace. I'd suggest HIIT (High intensity Interval Training) on a treadmill simply because you're always altering the pace up with makes it much more enjoyable than just 25minutes of pain and boredom.
