I started doing sit ups ages ago and did 200 average a day, for about 2/3 weeks, but never really saw any results. I have a very slow metabolism, so wondered if any body out there had any ideas about what i could do to trim myslef down quicker. I'm going travelling in 4 months and really want to be as slim as possible. If any body can help, please let me know. It's relly getting me down. Beth xxx:love:

You need to do cardio.

there are easier ways to getting more powerful abs than 200 situps. Try using a decline situp bench, come up very slowly, hold it while flexing your abs, and slowly come about 3/4 of the way back down. Do 3-4 sets of 10-15; if you can pump those out with ease use weights for resistance, or increase the decline. Leg lifts are also highly effective for targeting lower abs.
Four months is plenty of time to make some significant results. If you're new to fitness I'd really suggest getting a book, there are a lot of popular misconceptions out there. I started with a program called Body For Life, I think since then a program specifically for women has been published by the same author. Pick it up out of a library, or buy it if you want to keep it as a reference.

It has to do with your diet too.

sivysivy is right. if you're looking to get rid of the fat, you can do ab crunches till your blue in the face and never get the results you want. its going to be a direct result of your diet.. more specifically the calories in/calories out. cardio can be used to help burn some fat. if you DO want your abs to keep growing, you need to continually challenge them. add resistance.

yea i agree with bropie and sivysivy almost all of it has to do with your diet... u need to start paying attention to your calorie intake... www.fatlosstips.com... read it, its a very informative read... i agree with the article 100% all except for running on an empty stomach, i usually have a protein shake just before the run so i don't loose any lean mass...
