Okay this is going to seem off the wall, but have any of you experienced any mood swings from taking protein supplements???...or from increasing muscle mass??? I have found myself a little more aggitated lately and I'm taking some cheap protein supplement only...the only hypothesis I can come up with is maybe from doing weights my testosterone levels the little there are because I am a female, are rising thus making me more aggressive??? Anyway, any feedback would be great.

I have no idea. I have felt so much better since I started training and consuming protein. I think it might be something else in your life or diet that is causing it.

Protein has a positive effect on the brains' neurotransmitters...it is recommended for those who are depressed to increase protein intake. I would look to food additives, caffine.

Well I do my entire body 3x/week and 20 minutes of cardio right after that. and then on my off days I do HIIT. Even that is only for 20 minutes. I give myself two days of rest and start all over, so compared to what others are doing I wouldnt say that is overtraining???...I am also noticing that I am more tired too...I thought when you exercised reguarily you didn't need as much sleep no???...who knows, maybe it is just one of those things needing to be chalked up to mystery...ah well, im feeling better anyway...so im opting for the mystery solution.
Thanks for all your imput though

How long ahve you been training this way without a long break like a week? One othe sign of overtraining is being tired, having no desire to go into the gym, grumpyness, flu like illness, low hunger, not to mention the aggressiveness....if you have any of these take a few days off...see what happens

Are you supplementing any vitamins?
Tiredness is a sign of vitamin deficit. I used to yawn while training. I started taking the vitamins and no more tiredness and yawning.

It sounds like 2 things either you have a cold coming on...or overtraining ( not to sure since you have been doing it for only 5 weeks). Yes it is myth that just s few days you will loose gains a month now you are talking about losing. take a few days off and call me in the morning. Total rest just do normal activity...if that does not help, maybe go to doc, or look t you total cals per day....if you ar enot eating enough of all the crabs protein and fats you will get tired...

I am congested, and I do have the sniffles...(for the third time in the last five weeks)...Maybe you are right Mutt maybe I just need to take a break and allow this bug to get out of my system...As for the vitamins, yes I am finishing my pre/post natal vitamins (why waste them) so I am getting more than I actually need in the vit. and min. department...I guess I am concerned that I will get too comfortable on my break and not want to come back to this...(historical pattern) but a girls gotta do what a girls gotta do...thanks for your help.
