How many calories should i eat to lose

I am trying to lose about 50 lbs. I am 5'7" and weigh 195. how many calories should i eat a day to lose? i do cardio 5 days a week 30-45min and weight training. i have been doing this for about a month and have not seen too good of a result. I am assuming it is because I am eating too many calories. I have changed my eating habits too.
Thanks in advance for any help.

There really is no set number, we are all different. We can ballpark it, but you really may already have the answer. If with what you are doing now, your current activity level and caloric intake is keeping you exactly the same, then you have what is known as your maintenance calories. What you need to do from here is intelligently start reducing your caloric intake by for instance 300 calories per day, not enough to shock the system badly, but enough to induce a weight loss. Keep your protein high, and you will preserve lean mass, while utilizing mostly fat.
