i recently read in a few places on freetrainers that if u do the same type of cardio all the time ur body gets used 2 it and it dosent help-u need to vary cardio to get the best out of it. But i dont get why. I understand (well to some extent) how this can be with weight training , i.e doing the same lift may make ur body get used to it, but i dont understand how it can work with cardio? i mean, if, say, i only ever do running does that mean after a while when i go running my fitness wont increase, etc? can anyone explain?
thanks
Varying anything is a good idea. While yes, you can indeed improve in running fitness, this is a good thing if you want to become a marathoner. Varying cardio regimines and intesity of them will keep the body guessing, and assist with fat loss, which is I am sure why you are doing it in the first place. On the other hand, if your goal is as mentioned to be a marathoner, then by all means do the same thing.
