I am new to dieting, new to exercise.. but have decided I am sick of just whining about the weight I am gaining and get off my butt. I just got put on a fitness program that I will start Monday, But what should I be eating??? I am a single mother and I work full time, so sometimes it is just easier to grab fast food. I know that has got to stop. Anyone have any quick suggestions for me???

i would suggest picking up a copy of 'the abs diet: eat right every time guide' by david zinczenko. the book has the nutritional info of many fast food places, and makes some shocking comparisons (ie that a whopper has 200 more cals than a big mac, etc.) it is an easy reference for most fast food stops, as the nutritional info isnt always readily available.
another option is to plan ahead. put together a quick pb and j sandwich the night before (or whatever you want to eat), and plan what times of the day you will eat. this way you are not stuck on the road looking for a quick bite, and less likely to stray from healthier choices, which you can make at home.

You should eat 5-6 small meals a day. This will keep your insulin in key. You want to make sure you are eating protein, especially lifting weights because this builds muscle. Also remember, carbs are important also, but not too many.
