could someone plese tell me if it is better to do split workouts when lifting..for example a different body part each day if i lift 5 days/wk? ive just been alternating upper and lower as i want to lose weight and tone..but i am certainly not afraid to get some muscle!

bella - I'd suggest you get in to one of free trainers routines. They're proven and especially if you haven't gotten the work out routines down, they are affective. It usually works better to do muscle groups like back or pecs instead of just upper body/lower body in each workout. If you isolate the muscle groups, you can get more intensity and you'll be pleasantly surprised when you get your routine down better.
