Hi all! I am 38 yrs old, 5'2 and weight 200 lbs. I'm a single mom to 4 kids (8-3). I hate the way I look and I really want to get myself under control but I don't seem to have the ability.(I have sporadically dieted and exercised my entire life) I lost 30 lbs on Atkins a couple of years ago but then my willpower just left me..and now it's back. I find that it is so hard to get myself moving. I tell myself that baby steps are better than no steps but I just have no get up and go. I crave sweets and eat too large of portions of everything else. I tried following the basic FT home workout but it takes an hour in addition to cardio time - which I just can't do. So, I've decided to do the cardio and work on the special abs program. I really need to hear from someone who has been large and succeeded in losing or someone who would help me remain accountable. My kids are young, and I'd like to be active with them and not be the 'fat mom'. I want to be attractive and feel more confident about dating again.. Does anyone relate? I keep failing, but I won't give up. I'd appreciate any support and encouragement you may have!

Welcome to FT!
You'll find a lot of support and help here.
Can you post how many calories you take in on an average day? If you don't know, it will be a good idea to write them down. Also use the nutritional plan on this site. You'll also find a lot of posts by using fitbuddy at the bottom of the page.
Best of luck!

Welcome to freetrainers - I have been in your boat!
It is important that you believe in what you are doing and keep on going with those baby steps!
Set some small goals to achieve - like walking or working out every other day - then give yourself gold stars on the calendar when you reach those goals - it will help build momentum and keep you going.
usually cravings mean you are not eating enough at regualr intervals to keep your blood sugar stable.
What and when do you usually eat?
