hi the question is simple to gain muscle is it best to use a high weight and low reps or use high reps and low weight.
for example:
20 reps of 20kg barbell = lifted 400kg overall
25 reps of 15kg barbell = lifted 450kg overall
using low weight means i wont get as tired quickly and will lift more weight but will it build more muscle?
thx

If u want to bulk up....try the low reps...however, u will not get as toned. U will however get huge, but if thats what u want...try it. My reccomendataion to u would b to get lean. Which includes various sets of different reps. Also, include cardio into the end of your workouts to help get lean. There are many programs on here that will aide u in getting lean muscle. Pick one and stick with it, ull b suprised at the results.

Heavy Weight, Low Reps. When you lift weight, you should have to struggle to get to that last rep, this is to lose weight and gain muscle.
