Im just starting out at the whole body building thing and i want to do it right. Im skint so im goin to be making my own protein shakes out of milk powder and skimmed milk which have 35g protein, 99g carbs and about 1g fat. is this good and, seeing as i exercise first thing in the morning, when should i take the shake?

take your shake postworkout. optimally, a whey protein mixed with water would be taken, as your mix with milk would slow absorption, when you want it in your system fast.
