After a solid weight resistance training workout how many grams of protein can your body convert through protein synthesis before just storing it as body fat to be used as energy later? I've been taking in about 500-600 calories after a workout, 40g or so of protein and usually a serving of brown rice and a pear or yogurt... is that over doing a post work out meal? I'm always conflicted because on one end my body is exhausted and requires nutrients to repair the damage and plenty of them, but on the other hand I just burnt quite a bit of energy how much should I take in?

post workout shake should be 1/4 bodyweight in grams of protein and 1/2 bodyweight in grams of carbs.. follow this up with a meal 30-45 mins later
