What are your thoughts?? I currently run 3-5 miles prior to training my upper body with weight lifting, all in the same day 3-4 days a week. Is there any reason to change the way I going at it today if I'm happy with how the program is working. Are there any benefits to running in between my weight training (on off days).

running is cardio, and i have heard you should do cardio on off days, or if on the same day, at least 6 hours after weight training....i think its cuz running before weight training makes u tired and uses up ur nutrients and energy so u wont make much progress with weight training...but then again if ur progressing well and happy with ur results, it wouldnt matter? Just my 2 cents, but im sure other more experienced, proffesional people on here will be able 2 help u more:)

If it's working well and pleasing you then keep doing it. However, as febreze said running before you lift is robbing your energy for lifting. You wont get the same intensity as you could if you hadn't run before. I would suggest run on lift 3 days, run 3 days (1 days being the day that you exercise your legs), and then you'll have 2 rest days. This way you'll still burn off fat, and you'll get a more intense upper body work out.

If you want size and strength then don't do any aerobic exercise. Unless it's at the lowest levels such as walking, maybe a slow jog.
