Hello everyone, I'm new to the community and excersise in general and I have a question.

I'm currently subscribed to two different exercise programs, a "general" 8 - 12 week fitness program, and a 8 - 12 week abdominal workout program. My "general" program falls upon Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, and my abdominal program falls upon Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Is there any danger to do both programs at the same time since they fall on different days, or am I still at risk of overdoing it?

Thanks in advance,

- Joe

It would be better in my opinion to combine them, other wise your going to only have 1 day of rest a week and that would be over doing it. If you combine them you can have 3 days of rest and not over do it. I think there would be more danger in overtraining if you didn't combine them then if you did.

I think you may have misunderstood me. If I do combine them, I will only have one day of rest (Sundays), but if I didn't I would have three (Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays)

What he means is to change the days for the ab program and do it on a day that you're doing your general program, basically on Monday and Thursday do your General, on Tuesday and Friday do you General plus your Ab program. Then you still get your 3 days rest.

Sorry tainted, what I meant was combine both programs on the "same" days. Your first program is on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday, what I am saying is combine your ab routine on "those" days. You only have 2 days for the ab routine, so put them on Thursday and Monday, or Tuesday and Friday. Doesn't matter so much of what days you do as long as you put enough time in between to rest. Stay with the 3 days of rest though, just go to the gym twice a day on 2 days, and once a day on the other 2. ;) Sorry for not being more specific.
