Finished up my weight loss and toning program and am now three weeks into the progressive gains program. Not only have I not gained anything I have lost a pound! I have put my heart and soul into this and am discouraged by my lack of gains. I have heard that you can't build muscle AND burn fat at the same time so it appears that my hard work has been in vain without any muscle gains to show for my efforts.
I have followed the workout routine precisely as prescribed and have not done any signifigant cardio as the program suggests, so I am at a loss to explain my lack of results.
I am eating in the neighborhood of 2300 calories a day which is an increase of roughly 400 calories from the weight loss program.
I don't feel that I can physically eat any more food since I already struggle with consuming my current amount.
Is adding another shake to up my calories a viable solution even though this will increase my protein intake above the recommended amount? If not does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks in advance!!

My suggestion-
Take 1 large hammer-
Put scale on hard cement area-
Hit scale multiple times until it is in at least 300-400 pieces-
Put pieces in box-
Burn box-
Scales do nothing but decieve you. All that matters is how you feel, and if you are satisfied with how your physique looks.
So, my suggestion is ditch the scale, stop weighing yourself, and look in the mirror! Smile! Are you satisfied with your body?
Progressive gains program you will not see much gains, just over an extensive period of time. Try looking back after 8 wks or so, then you will know whether it worked, and what you may need to tweak for your next time around.

I was just looking over this option to do at the end of my weight loss and toning. So keep us posted. I'm trying to decide if I wanna go with mass or the progressive program.
However I would think, as with any cookie cutter plan, you would need to customize it to what works for you. Can't hurt to experiment. Sounds like your metabolism is just working a little faster then you need it to. So might add another snack in there somewhere to up your calories or just a bigger snack towards bedtime. Not sure, since I havne't gotten there yet.

Sbroyhill,
Thanks for the speedy response!
I know that scales are virtually useless but I still check them once a month just to get an overall idea of what I weigh.
The problem is I AM NOT happy with my physique. If anything I feel like my muscles have shrunk since beginning the progressive gains program. I have a history of having a distorted vision of what I truly look like (for example I think my profile photo looks like I am still quite overweight despite others' opinions). When I look in the mirror I don't see anything that remotely makes me pleased with my efforts.
Still going to stick with it though and hopefully one day be happier with my appearance.
Thanks again for your suggestion!

sstump1,
Thanks for your input!
You must have been answering as I was typing my last response.
I am leaning towards another shake also but will hold out to see what the general consensus is.
Thanks again

Any other opinions whether I should go with more calories or give it more time?
Thanks
