To keep myself accountable I thought I'd do a weekly update.
Monday : 60 mins medium intensity intervals on stationary bike (15-22.5 mph) Tuesday : 60 mins easy pace (65%MHR) recovery walk on treadmill Wednesday : Endurance bike ride: 55miles, 4hours+ Thursday : day off Friday : short bike ride: 12 miles, 60 mins Saturday : hillwalk: 900 metres ascent, 5 hours easy pace (my mum's pace!). I was going to go out for an hour on my bike after this, but I had a lager and fell asleep instead! Sunday : day off I would normally do weights on a thursday, but I didn't have time as I was packing for my move, and I also went to Skye for the weekend (hence the saturday hillwalk). I don't know what I'll manage this week as I am supposed to be moving on wednesday(if my mortgage provider gets their act together). -------------- The path to righteousness is a cycle path |

I should also add that this program is purely for cardiovascular conditioning, and if anyone is wanting to gain muscle/ become lean etc, this is not for you!
I am also eating like a powerlifter at the moment and only just maintaining my weight! |

55 miles! Wowsers! Maybe someday I could hit that amount (in like 6,000,000 years from now)..... I feel like I had a good workout when I am done with my 12-14 miles in 40 minutes....-------------- :Hard work equals great results!: |

Cycling in beautiful Scottish countryside on a lovely bike (*sighs*) is much, much easier than cycling on the bike in the gym - you hardly notice the effort it takes.

struggling to get in the workouts :
monday - weights - legs tuesday - 60 mins on treadmill @ 65-70%MHR wednesday - 30 mins HIIT on elliptical friday - 60 mins on treadmill 30@ 75-80%MHR, 30@65-70%MHR saturday - 60 mins on treadmill @ 65-70%MHR Not feeling too good towards the end of the week, and ended up having to take sunday off completely. I'm not sure what's wrong, as my resting pulse is ok, I just feel really fatigued. Hmmm :( Maybe it's the moving house stress. |

Stress is probably the cause. When I moved to my current house I thought I was going off my nut! Mortgage providers, useless lawyers - thought I was going to be needing therapy. Take a couple of days off and you'll be dying to go out on Sergio! Love the name. All the best in your new home.

Week 6:
Monday - HIIT on elliptical 30 mins Thursday (my birthday!) - Lactate threshold session 60 mins Saturday - Out on bike with friend 25 miles, quite slow pace as she was racing the next day. Sunday - Did another LT session as Saturday was easy and didn't do so many workouts this week. I have invested in a turbotrainer so I can now do my indoor sessions on a proper bike rather than an exercise bike - it makes a big difference. -------------- The path to righteousness is a cycle path |

Week 8:
Monday - 10 mile bike ride, at threshhold (160-170bpm) Tuesday - can't remember what I did. This is the problem with being 30, your memory goes completely. I know I went to the gym at some point so I think it must've been tuesday. Wednesday - 60 mins on the turbotrainer - started trying to do a threshold session, but my legs said "NO" so I just stuck at 140-150bpm. Thursday - day off Friday - endurance session - 54 miles out on the road bike. Average speed 13.5 miles, average heart rate 150 Saturday - 60 mins on the treadmill at 125-135 bpm Sunday - 1 hour hill walk. -------------- The path to righteousness is a cycle path |

No - I have been eating out a lot!
I am actually feeling very relaxed about my weight at the moment - I'm just trying to roughly maintain it and not stressing too much. -------------- The path to righteousness is a cycle path |
